12 tons at 700mm, what does this actually stand for? Most forklift trucks have a load weight of about 500 mm, which means that at 500 mm you can lift 12 tons in this case. The further forward the weight is on the forks, the less this lifting capacity becomes.
with the Hyster H12.00XL 12TON forklift this is 700mm, which means that at 70cm you can still pick up 12 tons, and at 600mm this becomes 12750 and at one meter still about 10 tons!
